Budget 2024: Recovery and sustainable growth of the economy is one of the priorities for next year

Restoring the economy and ensuring sustainable growth is one of the priorities for next year. This was noted by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
“Ukraine’s economy demonstrated extraordinary resilience and adaptability in the war and after a serious decline last year, it has already begun to recover this year. Our task for the next year is to accelerate the current pace of recovery and ensure sustainable growth. Next year, we are strengthening programs to support domestic business, which is the driver of recovery. And we are providing for more than UAH 30 billion for their implementation in the 2024 budget. We stimulate the attraction of investments in reconstruction through mechanisms of public-private partnership and support of investors at the state level. We will expand the network of industrial parks, we will continue to focus on the priority demining of agricultural lands in order to restore their use by farmers as soon as possible,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.
In particular, the state budget draft for 2024 provides for the allocation of funds for:
- business support through the Entrepreneurship Development Fund (in particular, through the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program) - UAH 18 billion;
- providing grants to business for the creation or development of processing enterprises, horticulture and greenhouse farming - UAH 1.4 billion;
- state support for domestic demand for domestic goods and services to stimulate the development of Ukrainian manufacturers - UAH 3 billion;
- state support for the implementation of investment projects with significant investments - UAH 3 billion;
- stimulating the creation of industrial parks - UAH 1 billion;
- humanitarian demining of agricultural lands - UAH 2 billion.
According to the draft state budget for 2024, GDP growth is forecast at the level of 5%.

Yuliia Svyrydenko urged investors to use the Platform for co-investment to support Ukraine's private sector
Ukraine is developing coordination with bilateral development agencies (DFIs), in particular through the Memorandum of Understanding between the EBRD and DFI on the co-financing platform, which allows the use of long-term project financing and guarantees from DFIs together with resources from international financial institutions (IFIs) to implement investment projects in Ukraine.

Made in Ukraine: Farmers receive first compensation for the purchased agricultural machinery by Ukrainian producers
The first three agricultural enterprises received 25% compensation for the cost of the purchased agricultural machinery and equipment by Ukrainian manufacturers. Government synchronises further joint steps with IMF mission to restore economic growth and implement reforms, – Yuliia Svyrydenko
Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine, discussed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission the current macro-financial situation, business support programmes and further joint steps to ensure economic growth. Ukraine and Costa Rica will work together to restore pre-war trade volumes, – Yuliia Svyrydenko
Trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Costa Rica have great potential for growth, this concerns the increase in volumes and the diversification of trade. Preparations for the Memorandum of Understanding signing between Ukraine and Costa Rica on the promotion of trade and investment relations are currently being completed. The possibility of concluding a Free Trade Agreement is also being considered in the future.
