Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation between Ukrainian and Danish manufacturers in humanitarian demining: Yuliia Svyrydenko

This was stated by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, during a meeting with Jan Werner Jensen, CEO of the Danish company Hydrema, in Copenhagen on 15 April.
“We sincerely appreciate Denmark’s support for Ukraine in the field of humanitarian demining. Today, Hydrema mechanical demining machines are already working to clear the territory of our country. It is extremely important for us that by cooperating with a Ukrainian manufacturer, the company has localised production in Ukraine and is working with a Ukrainian partner. Therefore, the opportunities for deepening cooperation are far from being exhausted. Today, this area is developing rapidly in Ukraine, and the synergy of efforts of Ukrainian and Danish manufacturers would help accelerate the pace of humanitarian demining,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.
Currently, there are 9 machines from Hydrema in operation in the demining sector in Ukraine. The company’s capacities allow it to produce 5 more machines this year and 9 next year.
“We believe that Hydrema’s capabilities and technologies can make an even greater contribution to the security of Ukrainian land. The company has already shown its effectiveness in achieving this goal. In addition to the machines operating in Ukraine, we have also trained Ukrainian specialists to use the equipment and repair it in case of breakdowns or explosions. So, thanks to the cooperation we have already built, we have the potential to increase it,” Yuliia Svyrydenko added.
In total, 77 heavy vehicles for humanitarian demining are currently operating in Ukraine. In addition, last year during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London, two memorandums on the localisation of demining equipment production were signed with Danish Hydrema and Croatian DOK-ING.
