The Government of Ukraine aims to accelerate the full European integration of the energy sector, creating all the necessary conditions for this, Yuliia Svyrydenko

Під час відеоконференції «Українська енергетична дорожня карта» за участі Першого віцепрем’єр-міністра України – Міністра економіки України Юлії Свириденко було оголошено про запуск Європейсько-Українського хабу з питань енергетичного переходу.

Despite the losses in the energy infrastructure as a result of the russian aggression, the energy industry continues to function and stand in defense of Ukrainian energy independence. The Government aims to develop the energy sector in synergy with the European Union in order to become an alternative to russia in the world market. The road map of the energy sector of Ukraine will help to implement these plans as soon as possible and will contribute to a full-fledged post-war recovery.

This was stated by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, during Ukraine Energy Roadmap video conference on October 25, during which the launch of the European-Ukrainian Hub for Energy Transformation was announced. The event was attended by Marosh Šefčovych, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, representatives of Ukrainian and European scientific institutions in the field of energy and climate, and international partners of Ukraine.

“Without waiting for the end of the war, we are working on the transformation of the energy sector of Ukraine. We are committed to attracting investment to speed up the post-war recovery process and are setting strategic targets under the Green Deal. The Government is grateful to European partners for their constant support, in particular, for the initiative to launch the European-Ukrainian Hub for Energy Transformation, which provides an opportunity to use world-leading experience not only in the energy sector, but also in ecology, environmental protection and achieving climate neutrality,” Yuliia Svyrydenko stated.

The Ministry of Economy is actively working on the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP ) until 2030, which will help achieve several goals: strengthen energy security, bring Ukrainian standards into line with European norms, and fulfill joint commitments regarding a low-carbon future.
