"eOselya" ("eDwelling"): 4,000 Ukrainian families received loans to purchase housing

єОселя: 4 000 українських родин отримали кредити на придбання житла

4,000 Ukrainian families received mortgage loans under the "eOselya" Programme and are now able to buy housing. A total of UAH 5.8 billion in loans have already been granted. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Nadiia Bihun.

"Already 4,000 Ukrainian families have received loans under the "eOselya" Programme and can now realise their dream of owning their own home. 69% of loans were granted to servicemen and security forces, 13% – to teachers and scientists, and 10% – to doctors. I would like to remind you that representatives of these professions have been able to receive a loan under the Programme at 3% since October last year. And since August of this year, we have launched a mass mortgage, and all Ukrainians who do not have their own housing or need to improve their dwelling conditions can get a loan. As of today, 8% of the total number of mortgage loans under the Programme have been issued at interest rate 7%. In total, loans worth UAH 5.8 billion have already been granted," Nadiia Bihun said.

In particular, last week Ukrainians received 157 loans for UAH 247 million under the "eOselya" Programme, including:

  • 83 military and security personnel, 17 teachers, 9 doctors and 1 scientist received loans at interest rate of 3%;
  • 46 Ukrainians without their own housing and 1 veteran received loans at interest rate of 7%.

Loans were most often taken to purchase housing on the secondary market (118 loans) and from a developer (37). Two Ukrainians also took loans to buy apartments under construction.

Most mortgage loans were taken by residents of:

Kyiv oblast – 44;

city of Kyiv – 28;

Rivne oblast – 14;

Dnipropetrovsk oblast – 12;

Lviv and Odesa oblasts – 9 in each.

As a reminder, the affordable lending programme is currently available to representatives of certain professions and citizens who do not own housing or want to improve their dwelling conditions. For contract servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, teachers, doctors and scientists, the preferential rate is 3% per annum. For other categories – combatants, veterans, internally displaced persons, and other citizens – the mortgage rate is 7%.
