First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko called on partners to step up efforts to attract investments to Ukraine and support the private sector during the 9th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine. In addition, she noted that Ukraine was working on short-term priority steps developed jointly with international partners to help strengthen Ukraine’s economic self-sufficiency.

“Today, our focus is on identifying opportunities for economic growth, as we understand that to be resilient on the battlefield, we must also become more resilient economically. We are working on unblocking export logistics, attracting investment, developing the defence industry, strengthening production, returning Ukrainians and other steps,” Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized.

She also thanked the European Commission for launching Pillar II under the Ukraine Facility, which provides for the allocation of at least EUR 6.97 billion. The funds will be used to support Ukrainian companies, banks and municipalities in the form of guarantees, concessional loans, grants and technical assistance.

In addition, Yuliia Svyrydenko stressed the importance of the Business Advisory Council, which would help attract support for the private sector.

“Ukraine welcomes the establishment of the Business Advisory Council, as it will help to create a favourable environment for the growth of the private sector in Ukraine. The council will serve as a platform for dialogue and cooperation between government agencies, business and other stakeholders. We expect that through strategic advice, advocacy and cooperation, the council will support entrepreneurs and investors, helping them to overcome challenges and seize opportunities for growth and development,” Yuliia Svyrydenko continued.

According to First Deputy Prime Minister, the advisory council includes international experts. Representatives of Ukraine are also included.

In addition, Yuliia Svyrydenko noted that Ukraine was looking forward to the development of additional instruments with a focus on addressing urgent needs, such as political risk insurance and access to finance for the private sector.
