eOselia: 8,000 Ukrainian families received loans for the purchase of housing

єОселя: 8 000 українських родин взяли кредити на придбання житла

8,000 Ukrainian families received loans for the purchase of housing under the eOselia programme for a total of UAH 12.2 billion. A quarter of the loans issued since the beginning of 2024 are for the purchase of apartments from the developer: ready-made or under construction. Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Nadiia Bihun informed about this.

“8,000 Ukrainian families have already received loans for the purchase of housing under the eOselia programme for a total of UAH 12.2 billion. Only since the beginning of 2024, 1,650 such loans for almost UAH 3 billion have been issued, 25% of them for the purchase of apartments from the developer or in buildings under construction. That is, more and more Ukrainians prefer the so-called first sale housing, rather than the secondary market. In turn, their choice has a positive effect on the field of housing construction, because it stimulates its development and activation in related sectors of the economy,” Nadiia Bihun noted.

In particular, last week, Ukrainians received 173 loans worth UAH 282 million under the eOselia programme, including:

  • 90 servicemen and security officials, 24 teachers, 9 doctors and 4 scientists received loans at 3%;
  • 39 Ukrainians without their own homes, 2 IDPs and 5 veterans received loans at 7%.

Most often, loans were taken for the purchase of housing in the secondary market (134 loans), at the same time, 31 Ukrainians took a loan to buy an apartment from a developer, 8 - an apartment in a building under construction.

Residents of the following regions took the most mortgage loans:

Kyiv oblast - 47;

the city of Kyiv - 27;

Lviv oblast - 12;

Odesa oblast - 11;

Khmelnytskyi oblast - 10.

As a reminder, the affordable lending programme may be used today by both representatives of certain professions and citizens who do not have their own housing or want to improve its conditions. For servicemen of the Armed Forces under contract, teachers, doctors and scientists, the preferential rate is 3% per annum. For other categories - combatants, veterans, IDPs, other citizens - the mortgage rate is 7%.
