eRobota: 100 veterans and their families to receive grants from the state for business development

єРобота: 100 ветеранів та членів їхніх родин отримають гранти від держави на розвиток бізнесу

Following the tenth wave of applications for grants for veterans, 12 winners will receive UAH 6.1 million from the state to start or expand their businesses. In total, 100 veterans and family members of combatants have already been awarded grants worth UAH 40 million since the launch of the veterans' component of "Vlasna Sprava" grant programme. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.

"Veterans and their family members continue to join the grant programme offered by the government to support entrepreneurship. As of today, we have 100 winners who will receive grants ranging from UAH 250,000 to UAH 1 million for their own business. 60% of them are veterans who are ready to start a business or scale up an existing business and engage their fellow veterans in their business. 63 winners of the programme have already received grants to their accounts and can invest them in their businesses," said Tetiana Berezhna.

Among the 12 winners of the tenth wave, 8 are combatants and 4 are family members of veterans. Of these, 5 winners requested grants of up to UAH 250,000, 5 – up to UAH 500,000, and 2 – up to UAH 1 million.

The winners plan to use the grants to open a chain of coffee shops, a hairdressing salon, a development and beauty studio for women and children, a furniture manufacturing company, and to equip an educational space in an early development centre. In addition, a number of veterans received grants to scale up their existing businesses: they plan to develop a foreign language school, expand a mini-farm, and increase the production of ethno-thermal clothing.

Under the terms of the programme, combat veterans or persons with war-related disabilities, as well as their spouses, can receive the following grants:

  • UAH 250,000 for a veteran, provided that one job is created;
  • UAH 500,000 for the veteran's spouse, provided that two jobs are created;
  • UAH 1 million for a veteran who has experience in entrepreneurial activity and has been registered as an individual entrepreneur for at least 3 years, provided that four jobs are created, at least 2 of which will be held by veterans.

Grants of UAH 500,000 and UAH 1 million are provided on the condition of co-financing with the recipient in the ratio of 70/30, i.e. the grant recipient must invest 30% of their own funds in their business, and 70% of the funds will be provided by the state in the form of a grant.

Applications for grants are submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan.

As a reminder, the Government's eRobota project includes grant programmes aimed at stimulating entrepreneurship and job creation. These include microgrants for starting or expanding one's own business, grants for setting up and developing processing plants, planting orchards, viticulture, and greenhouses. Both existing entrepreneurs and people with no business experience can apply for a grant. Applications are currently being accepted for all components of the eRobota programme. Applications can be submitted through the Dii portal.
