Fourth International “Food from Ukraine” Conference and AGROEXPO 2025 Exhibition Open in Kyiv

Стартувала IV Міжнародна конференція «Food from Ukraine» та виставка АГРОЕКСПО 2025

On 19 November, Kyiv hosted the annual Fourth International “Food from Ukraine” Conference – a key global platform dedicated to strengthening food security and advancing strategic partnerships between Ukraine and countries worldwide.

The opening session was attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Oleksii Sobolev, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha.

The event is organised by the Ministry of Economy together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the auspices of the President’s humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine.” In 2025, the initiative was expanded and relaunched as Food from Ukraine, reflecting the scale, innovation and technological potential of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.

“Food from Ukraine is more than a presentation of Ukrainian capabilities. It is a new approach to global food solidarity. Despite the war, Ukraine remains a reliable partner and a guarantor of global food security. We are not only exporting grain and processed foods – we are developing technologies, investing in processing and expanding partnerships, including with African countries,” – emphasized Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The conference brought together global leaders, ministers, international organisations and leading experts, including official delegations and business representatives from EU and G7 countries, as well as many African states. Among the participants:

• more than 100 official and business delegations, including from African countries;

• foreign and Ukrainian business associations;

• leading producers of agricultural machinery, equipment and food products;

• representatives of Ukrainian government institutions.

During the conference, Minister Oleksii Sobolev presented Ukraine’s vision for strengthening food security, enhancing logistics routes and expanding cooperation – particularly with African partners.

“Today we are taking the next step – launching the creation of a network of regional food hubs, the first of which we plan to establish in Ghana. This will combine Ukrainian technologies with local capacities and strengthen global food system resilience,” – stated Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk.

Within the framework of the conference, the Minister and international guests visited the AGROEXPO 2025 exhibition, which brings together over 50 stands featuring agricultural machinery, equipment and technologies, as well as more than 50 Ukrainian processing companies – from major producers to small-scale manufacturers.

The programme also includes panel discussions, presentations of investment projects, discussions on new trade opportunities and bilateral meetings facilitating direct cooperation between Ukrainian agribusinesses and international partners.

Food from Ukraine 2025 continues the tradition of annual summits held in Kyiv each November:

• 2022: launch of the President’s humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine” to support countries facing hunger;

• 2023: focus on unblocking food supply routes and ensuring uninterrupted grain exports;

• 2024: emphasis on sustainable food systems and improving child nutrition, with Ukraine sharing its school meals reform experience.

The Fourth International Summit “Food from Ukraine 2025” is a key instrument for promoting Ukrainian agricultural products, demonstrating technological capabilities and expanding partnerships. It strengthens Ukraine’s role as a global guarantor of food security, opens new markets and creates investment opportunities even amid wartime conditions.

World Food Programme (WFP), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Swiss Confederation, Made in Ukraine Programme, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, MHP, Kernel, Ukrvinprom, RIDNE, Ukragromash, Agriacademy.

For reference

“Food from Ukraine” is the next stage of the President’s initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” launched in 2022 to reinforce Ukraine’s contribution to global food security. Its core mission is supplying Ukrainian grain to countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and other regions affected by hunger.

Since 2022, more than 320,000 tonnes of agricultural products (wheat and flour, corn, peas, sunflower oil) have been delivered to 18 countries: Bangladesh, Djibouti, Congo, Yemen, Ethiopia, Zambia, Kenya, Mauritania, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania and Chad. Across three summits, the initiative has mobilised more than USD 370 million in donor funds.
