Mine Clearance of Agricultural Land: Over 24,000 Hectares Made Available to Farmers in October

In October, farmers gained access to more than 24,000 hectares of land that had been surveyed and cleared of mines and explosives. Since the beginning of the year, state services and operators have surveyed over 289,000 hectares of agricultural land. Of this, more than 255,000 hectares have already been handed over to farmers for use.
"Mine clearance of agricultural land remains one of the key priorities of the Government. Each hectare cleared of mines and handed over to farmers means work for local people, it contributes to the economic development of the region and the country, and it helps restore the export potential of the state. Together with our partners, we are continuing to strengthen the capacity of operators and create the conditions to accelerate the clearing of the country's territory," said First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The areas with the most land surveyed are as follows:
- Kherson Oblast: 19,600 hectares in October, 230,400 hectares since the beginning of the year
- Mykolaiv Oblast: 2,400 hectares in October, 16,500 hectares since the beginning of the year;
- Kharkiv Oblast: 1,300 hectares in October, 21,500 hectares since the beginning of the year.
In October, 66 mechanical mine-clearing vehicles and 789 pyrotechnic teams — over 4,000 specialists in total — were involved in humanitarian demining and emergency response efforts.

Meeting of Special Representatives for Ukraine’s Recovery from 19 Countries Held in Warsaw
On 14 November, Warsaw hosted a meeting of Special Representatives for Ukraine’s recovery from 19 countries as part of the EU-Ukraine Investment Conference. Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and Special Representatives for Ukraine’s Recovery from 19 countries, including the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, Sweden, the Netherlands, as well as the European Union, represented by two Directorates-General — DG GROW and DG NEAR.

The European Commission approved €4.1 Вillion tranche for Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility
Today, the European Commission approved the second scheduled payment to Ukraine under the EU’s Ukraine Facility initiative, amounting to approximately €4.1 billion. This mechanism supports Ukraine in maintaining macro-financial stability and ensuring the effective functioning of state institutions. The final decision on the disbursement now rests with the EU Council, and the funds are expected to be transferred to Ukraine’s budget by the end of the year, bringing the total financing for 2024 to €16.1 billion.

Ministry of Economy Developing Approach to Restoring Land in De-Occupied Territories
The Ministry of Economy has taken the lead in forming a working group to establish a soil analysis system for areas affected by military operations and to develop recommendations for farmers working on such lands. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Ihor Bezkaravainyi, during the “Territory Clearance: Soil and Infrastructure Restoration” Forum.
