On 29 November, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko met in London with the leadership of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the United Kingdom in order to discuss practical steps for Ukraine’s energy recovery.

“The massive missile attacks by the terrorist country on the civilian infrastructure, in particular the disruption of energy systems, makes us look for additional ways to provide Ukraine with electricity necessary for the functioning of most industrial enterprises and household consumers. Today, we together with our British colleagues are going to focus on practical steps to support the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, including the repair of power grids, providing the population with LED lamps and other energy efficiency measures,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.

The Minister of Economy of Ukraine expressed her gratitude to the British Government for the new package of support for our country from the UK, which had been announced by Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak during his visit to Kyiv on 19 November, as well as by Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs James Cleverly during his visit to Kyiv on 25 November.

Among other things, the Package will include GBP 3 million to help rebuild Ukraine, including vital infrastructure on the ground.

“Together with our partners and allies we will overcome all challenges in the energy sector. We will continue to work to ensure Ukraine’s energy independence,” Yuliia Svyrydenko stressed.
