Negotiations on unblocking imports of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU between Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and the European Commission continue. The EU has offered a financial aid package to five countries neighbouring Ukraine in exchange for lifting restrictive measures on Ukrainian agricultural goods. This was announced by Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis after a meeting with representatives of Ukraine and five EU member states that limit exports of Ukrainian agricultural products. -

On 19 April, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko had an online meeting with Minister of Economy and Industry of Bulgaria Nikola Stoyanov to discuss the temporary ban on grain and food imports from Ukraine introduced from today. The exception is the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Bulgaria Olesia Ilashchuk also joined the meeting. -

Ukraine and Poland reached an understanding on the transit of Ukrainian grain through the neighbouring country. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko following talks in Warsaw after the Polish government had decided to temporarily restrict imports and transit of agricultural goods from Ukraine through Poland. -

Facilitating access to EU markets, promoting entrepreneurship, learning from EU business experience and modernizing industry – these and other opportunities will be available to Ukrainian businesses under the EU’s Single Market Programme. The process of ratifying the relevant Agreement signed in Kyiv in early February is currently underway.
