Norway contributed NOK 240 million (approximately USD 22 million) to the Support to Ukraine’s Reconstruction and Economy (SURE) Trust Fund, launched by the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency of the World Bank (MIGA) in February 2023. to insure investments in Ukraine. The Verkhovna Rada has adopted in full the draft law No. 9015 on insurance of investments in Ukraine against war risks. This will allow the Export Credit Agency (ECA) to insure and reinsure investments of both international and Ukrainian companies even before the end of martial law. Ukrainian export-oriented business will be able to use war risk insurance instruments. -

In the near future, the Canadian Parliament is expected to ratify the updated Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Canada. To make the most of the new opportunities for private business in both countries, early next year, a Canadian business mission will arrive in Ukraine with concrete proposals for investment in Ukraine’s economy and post-war recovery. This was agreed by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and Mary Ng, Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development of Canada, during a video conversation. -

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is considering the possibility of financing investment projects submitted by the Ministry of Economy.
