On 18 September, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko met with the Italian delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine Carlo Formosa. One of the main topics of the meeting was Ukraine Recovery Conference-2025, which will be held in Italy.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Ministers Oleksii Sobolev, Volodymyr Kuzio, Tetiana Berezhna, Andrii Teliupa, and on the Italian side – Special Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Davide La Cecilia and Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Ukraine Stefano Moser.
Yuliia Svyrydenko thanked the Italian delegation for their significant assistance and decision to co-organise the next Ukraine Recovery Conference.
“URC-2025 will be the fourth such conference since the full-scale invasion. The URC is one of the most effective tools for consolidating international support for Ukraine’s recovery. At the last URC in Berlin, we managed to achieve concrete results – the participating countries were able to synchronise their vision of Ukraine’s reconstruction, and the total amount of projects and international agreements signed was over EUR 16 billion,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.
According to her, the Government has already set up the URC-2025 organising committee and is ready to work with Italian colleagues to organise the upcoming conference.
The Ukrainian side emphasised the need for closer coordination with the Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform, active participation in the forthcoming conference of the Business Advisory Council, which was established at URC-2024, participation of Ukrainian companies in the conference events, etc.
One of the key tasks in preparing for URC-2025 should be to expand the initiatives launched in Berlin, such as the SME Alliance and Skills Alliance, and to present concrete results of their implementation.
The participants also discussed the issue of attracting investors to Ukraine’s recovery projects. The Government invited Italian companies to explore investment opportunities and expand their presence in priority sectors of the economy.
In addition, the Ukrainian side thanked the Italian Export Credit Agency SACE for providing technical assistance to the Ukrainian Export Credit Agency. Ukraine looks forward to further development of cooperation between the ECAs of both countries, including further financial support for the Ukrainian ECA.
