Strengthening cooperation and establishing new ties between Ukrainian and Dutch manufacturers was the key goal of the working trip of the Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Economy Nadiia Bihun to the province of Overijssel in the Netherlands. During the visit, members of the delegation, which also included representatives of Ukrainian enterprises, met with the management of companies located in Overijssel and local authorities.
“For Ukrainian business and the economy of Ukraine as a whole, today it is extremely important to strengthen cooperation with Western partners. Ukraine needs investments. During each meeting, we explain to potential partners why it is profitable to invest in the economy of our state today, without waiting for the end of the war. And the list of offers is not limited to investments. Ukrainian enterprises offer various forms of mutually beneficial cooperation to potential partners.
Objectively, we see hesitation, mostly due to lack of information. And it is precisely through such meetings, with the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and enterprises, that the benefits of cooperation can be most fully communicated to potential partners. Synergy of the efforts of the Government and business gives very good results,” Nadiia Bihun said following the visit.
Thus, in particular, based on the results of the meetings, a preliminary agreement was reached on cooperation between the Ukrainian manufacturer and Hortilife BV, which specializes in the development, supply and installation of innovative, high-tech equipment, installations and structures for greenhouses and storage of agricultural products.
The company was operating in Ukraine before the start of the large-scale invasion, but has since refocused in other markets. Therefore, the management is now familiar with the conditions of work in Ukraine, in particular with the possibility of war risk insurance, and is ready to study the offers of Ukrainian manufacturers.
An important component of the success of such visits is the active support of local authorities in their organization.
“Establishing working contacts with local authorities is very important. They not only help to organize meetings with local businesses, but will continue to promote cooperation with Ukrainian companies among local enterprises. I am convinced that soon our joint work will have quite practical results that we will see in Ukraine,” Nadiia Bihun said.
As a reminder, previously the issues of strengthening economic cooperation between Ukraine and Germany and the development of Ukrainian clusters were discussed during the meetings of Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Nadiia Bihun and representatives of Ukrainian clusters with entrepreneurs and the leadership of the state of Baden-Württemberg (Germany). In particular, it was about establishing direct contacts between business associations and private companies, searching for new points of contact at all levels – from governmental to cooperation at the level of enterprises.
