Within the framework of the eRobota government program almost 11,000 Ukrainians have applied for grant assistance from the state to open or expand business, and 1,115 applications have already been approved. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna during her speech at the Fifth Information and Dialogue Platform “Business Aid in War: Relocation and Recovery”.
“The eRobota government program continues, new applications for grants are received from entrepreneurs in Diia portal every day, and there are currently already almost 11,000 of them. In total, winners of various grant programs requested slightly more than UAH 700 million. Recall that the Government has earmarked UAH 40 billion for this project, so we encourage entrepreneurs and everyone who dreams of starting their own business to apply for grant assistance from the state. We strive to do our best so that every capable Ukrainian has all conditions to become a warrior on the economic front and thus bring our country closer to victory over the enemy”, said Tetiana Berezhna.
She emphasized that the eRobota program is aimed both at revitalizing entrepreneurship and at stimulating the creation of jobs by grant recipients. Due to the implementation of this program, the Government expects to create 300,000 jobs.
Moreover, the Government has prepared other solutions that will improve situation on the labor market. In particular, in the near future the Verkhovna Rada should consider the government draft law on reforming the employment service and promoting the employment of population, including youth, as well as introduction of new active programs on the labor market (registration number 6067). The specialized parliamentary committee has already recommended adopting the draft law in the second reading.
According to this draft law, the employer will receive compensation of the single social contribution or portion of salary from the Unemployment Fund, if he employs:
- young, in particular, for the first job;
- participants of hostilities;
- single parents, parents of children with disabilities;
- persons 5 years before retirement age;
- persons with disabilities;
- long-term unemployed and other vulnerable categories of communities.
“Such government initiative will further help revitalize the labor market in Ukraine, increase tax revenues and will be an important step on the way to overcoming unemployment”, emphasized the Deputy Minister of Economy.
Recall that the eRobota project includes 6 grant programs aimed at stimulating the entrepreneurial activity. In particular, these are micro-grants for opening or developing one’s own business, grants for creation and development of processing enterprises, planting a garden and viticulture, greenhouse farming, support for IT startups and starting in the IT sphere.
Applications are being currently accepted for all areas of the eRobota program. The applications may be submitted via Diia portal.
