The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, with the support of the Kyiv School of Economics, continues to work with business to update the list of available investment projects. Based on the results of the work, a list of the most promising projects will be compiled that will be presented at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 in Berlin.
"Last year, the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London brought together hundreds of investors from around the world, heads of state and heads of government, international organizations and financial institutions. The greatest achievement of the event was the announcement of the Ukraine Facility, a €50 billion EU support program for Ukraine. And now we are already in the finishing straight to launch the program. The Ukrainian economy has great development potential – integration into the EU and the green transition create new opportunities for Ukrainian companies. It is important for Ukraine to develop the real sector of economy, and the private sector will play a major role in this. The Recovery Conference opens up new possibilities for forming partnerships and attracting investments so that Ukrainian businesses receive an impetus for growth and integration into international markets," said Volodymyr Kuzio, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
He added that some of the companies that offer the most developed and promising investment projects will have the opportunity to join URC 2024 and represent Ukraine at the conference. In addition to presentation at the URC, the generated base of investment projects will be used to determine priorities for financing, in particular from international financial organizations.
Currently, the Government, together with European partners, is developing a functioning mechanism of the Ukraine Facility's investment component. The approximately 7 billion euro program provides a risk mitigation mechanism available to investors in priority sectors, which will attract approximately 30 billion euros for business in Ukraine. Companies can attract financing through the EBRD, EIB, other international financial institutions and Ukrainian banks. Having an up-to-date investment project portfolio will allow you to prioritize needs and include appropriate funding in the program.
Coordination of work with business will be carried out by Kyiv School of Economics. The proposals received will be processed in partnership with leading consulting companies. The final list of projects is planned to be compiled by 01 May 2024.
