The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and Mastercard global technology company have signed a memorandum of cooperation within the framework of the Made in Ukraine policy aimed at supporting Ukrainian businesses, promoting and stimulating demand for products and services of domestic producers, in particular through the implementation of the national cashback programme for Ukrainian goods. The document was signed by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yasemin Bedir, President of Mastercard Eastern Europe, and Inga Andreeva, CEO of Mastercard Ukraine and Moldova.
“A functioning business is not only a guarantee of the country’s economic stability, but also of national security. The taxes paid by entrepreneurs to the budget finance our security and defence sector and our Armed Forces. Despite the war, constant rocket attacks, blackouts, disrupted supply chains, and a shortage of workers, domestic entrepreneurs continue to work. That is why the Government’s Made in Ukraine policy is aimed at supporting them, enabling them to develop through various government programmes, and stimulating demand for domestic products and services both in Ukraine and abroad. We are grateful to our partners who share our policy and priorities and are ready to implement them together with us,” Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, said.
“We are pleased to deepen our cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine to further develop the digital economy, implement innovative solutions and support Ukrainian entrepreneurs. We believe that small and medium-sized businesses are an important foundation for the recovery and prosperity of the Ukrainian economy, and today entrepreneurs are in particular need of our support. Our cooperation with the Ministry provides for the implementation of a wide range of initiatives, including the technical implementation of the national cashback programme, which we are already working on,” Inga Andreeva, CEO of Mastercard Ukraine and Moldova, emphasized.
The Memorandum provides for the cooperation between the parties, in particular, in the following areas:
- support for small and medium-sized businesses, including improving digital business processes (digital solutions for accepting payments, issuing electronic receipts, raising awareness of innovative financial trends)
- expert and technological partnership in the implementation of the national cashback programme for Ukrainian goods in support of the Made in Ukraine platform;
- support for the Ministry of Economy’s communication campaigns for small and medium-sized enterprises to improve their competitiveness.
