Humanitarian demining is one of the key elements of the recovery of Ukraine and the Ukrainian economy. Therefore, it is necessary to make maximum efforts to solve the issues that will help to accelerate the clearing of our country from mines and unexploded shells. This was emphasized by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko during a working meeting with ambassadors of Ukraine.

The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense, the State Emergency Service, ambassadors of Ukraine to the USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Croatia, Argentina and others.

“In order to speed up the putting into operation of liberated Ukrainian lands, it is necessary to provide the equipment to state operators who perform the main part of the work - the State Emergency Service and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We need about one hundred demining vehicles, 380 vehicles for transporting personnel and equipment, and 330 vehicles for transporting explosive objects. Together, we must find this equipment or manufacturers who will manufacture it, contract it and bring it to Ukraine as soon as possible. It should work in our fields as soon as possible, so that later Ukrainian planters, tractors, and harvesters will work there,” Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized.

As it was mentioned during the meeting, contacts have already been established with manufacturers from a number of countries. Therefore, it is necessary to speed up the substantive development of cooperation, as well as to continue the search and establishment of contacts with other manufacturers.

At the same time, demining machines and the specified equipment remain a key need, but not the only one. Ukraine strives to attract all the effective advanced demining technologies that exist in the world. Therefore, foreign companies possessing such technologies are also in the center of attention.
