306 Ukrainians will receive UAH 72 million in grants from the state to start or develop their businesses under the Own Business program following the tenth wave of applications filed. Since the beginning of 2023, 2,800 entrepreneurs have already become winners of the program and will receive grants worth UAH 665 million. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.

“According to the results of the tenth wave of microgrant applications, 306 Ukrainians will receive UAH 72 million to start or expand their own businesses. In total, since the beginning of this year, 2,800 Ukrainians have already taken advantage of the opportunity to receive financial support from the state for business development under the Own Business program. The state is investing UAH 665 million in their business projects. This is an investment not only in business development but also in labour market revitalization, as this year’s grantees will create more than 6,000 new jobs,” said Tetiana Berezhna.

Among the recipients of the tenth wave of microgrants, 56% are women and 44% are men. More than 70% of them have higher education. Most grantees are from Lviv (56 people), Rivne (33 people), Ivano-Frankivsk (24 people), Poltava (21 people) and Kyiv (19 people) oblasts.

The overwhelming majority of the grantees plan to use the microgrant funds to purchase equipment they need to run their businesses.

The most popular areas in which the winners of the tenth wave will work are:

  • wholesale and retail trade, repair of vehicles – 94 people;
  • processing industry – 49 people;
  • temporary accommodation and catering – 40 people;
  • health care and provision of social assistance – 22 people.

As a reminder, Ukrainians can receive a microgrant of UAH 50,000 to UAH 250,000 under the Vlasna Sprava grant program. The funds can be used to buy or lease equipment, purchase raw materials and supplies as well as rent premises. Both existing entrepreneurs and people with no experience can receive a microgrant. A pre-condition to get funds is creation of 1-2 jobs, depending on the size of the grant. Ukrainians, who have received microgrants in 2022, create about 8,000 new jobs.

 This year, the budget provides for UAH 1.8 billion for the Vlasna Sprava program, which will allow issuing about 10,000 microgrants.

The Government’s eRobota project includes grant programs aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship and job creation. Moreover, these include micro-grant programs for starting or developing a business, grants for establishing and developing processing enterprises, planting a garden, establishing viticulture and greenhouse facilities. Applications for all components of the eRobota program can be submitted via the Diia portal
