The Netherlands will allocate EUR 102 million as part of the third support package for Ukraine in 2023. This became known during a telephone conversation between the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko and Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Liesje Schreinemacher. The parties also discussed Ukraine's recovery and the expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries.

"I would like to thank the Kingdom of the Netherlands for its consistent support of Ukraine and its European choice, imposing sanctions against russia and providing military, financial and humanitarian assistance to our country. Today, the Netherlands announced the third financial assistance package for Ukraine this year.

It will include EUR 60 million worth of insurance opportunities for Dutch businesses investing in Ukraine against military and political risks, EUR 5 million will be provided to rebuild the liberated territories, and Ukraine will receive EUR 7 million through the IMF to reform financial institutions as part of its EU integration. Another EUR 20 million will be provided to Naftogaz of Ukraine through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to purchase gas for the current heating season, and another EUR 10 million will be spent on equipment to restore the Ukrainian energy sector, which has suffered from missile attacks by russia. In total, the Netherlands provides EUR 102 million to support Ukraine," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands encourages private companies to contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine. Export credit insurance for Ukraine provides coverage for investments and operations of Dutch companies with risks that are not covered by commercial insurers. This makes it more affordable for entrepreneurs to export and invest in Ukraine, which in turn contributes to the reconstruction. The total amount for which Dutch businesses can insure their risks in Ukraine has already increased to EUR 120 million.

Also, during the conversation, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Liesje Schreinemacher confirmed that her country was also considering the possibility of participating in humanitarian demining in Ukraine.
