Japanese businesses are ready to contribute to Ukraine's reconstruction and offer a range of modern technologies that will boost recovery. This was discussed during a meeting between the First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of the Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko and representatives of the Japanese business delegation. In particular, the meeting was attended by representatives of companies operating in the fields of healthcare, e-commerce, communication and financial technologies, production of transport and industrial goods, such as Rakuten, Allm and others.

“Despite the ongoing war, Ukraine's economy is demonstrating resilience and adaptability and is recovering faster than previously forecast - we expect a GDP growth of up to 4% this year. We are currently focusing our efforts on rebuilding what has been destroyed and inviting investors to invest in the development of projects in Ukraine. For our part, we are looking for ways to insure investments and have already made some progress. Currently, the Government has identified five priorities for rapid recovery: energy, housing, critical infrastructure, demining and economic recovery – the development of small and medium-sized businesses,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

During the meeting, representatives of Japanese business presented a number of projects and technologies that they propose to implement in Ukraine. For example, in the city of Bucha, with the participation of Japanese business, it is proposed to create a green industrial zone with an area of 3,000 hectares, where the green hydrogen production will be carried out. This will enable the launch of local production of renewable energy, heat and fuel and contribute to Bucha's energy independence.

They also presented technologies that will be useful in the process of rebuilding Ukraine, in particular:

  • medical technologies and programs for the prognosis, prevention and treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and stress-related disorders;
  • technology for the safe and rapid inspection of construction sites, which can be used to monitor infrastructure in remote areas (e.g. dams), it allows you to create accurate 3D maps in real time;
  • autonomous and maintenance-free drinking water purification systems, which are currently used in evacuation centers in disaster-affected areas of different countries;
  • a system for scientific support of agricultural production – collects information on the environment, weather conditions, and plant growth, analyses it with the assistance of AI, and provides recommendations for increasing crop yields.

In turn, the Ukrainian party presented the Ukrainian projects developed to attract investment.
