Private Austrian businesses are willing to consider joining the humanitarian demining of Ukraine. This was discussed during a meeting between Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and Marc-Milo Lube, Austrian businessman.

Yuliia Svyrydenko stressed that humanitarian demining is a crucial component of the country's security and economic recovery and is among the top five priorities of the Ukrainian Government. Ukraine invites all those who can contribute to humanitarian demining effort to ensure the rapid clearance of the territories.

Currently, about 174,000 square kilometres of land in Ukraine remain potentially contaminated. This is an extremely large amount of work, which Ukraine can only do if it is effectively organised and assisted by the international community.

In his turn, Marc-Milo Lube assured that Austrian private companies are willing to consider the possibility of joining the humanitarian demining of Ukraine using the latest technology, including drones. He recalled that the Austrian political leadership had previously expressed its readiness to contribute to the financing of humanitarian demining. Therefore, according to him, it is now necessary to intensify political dialogue between the countries to technically implement these agreements.
