UAH 60 billion in affordable loans received by businesses since the beginning of 2023

Last week, 397 entrepreneurs received loans totalling UAH 1.6 billion under the government's 5-7-9% affordable loans programme. Since the beginning of 2023, banks have granted 17,600 loans worth UAH 60 billion to businesses. Since the launch of the programme in February 2020, 70,700 loans worth UAH 227 billion have been disbursed.

Most entrepreneurs took out anti-crisis loans (UAH 61 billion) and anti-war loans (UAH 54.1 billion). UAH 28.4 billion was disbursed to refinance previous loans, UAH 27.2 billion to replenish working capital, and UAH 16.6 billion for investment purposes. In addition, agricultural enterprises received UAH 33.8 billion in loans to support their operations, while trading companies borrowed UAH 3.5 billion to replenish working capital.

The most frequent users of the programme are enterprises in the following sectors:

  • Agriculture (52%);
  • Trade and manufacturing (25%);
  • Industrial processing (14%).

Among the regions, the leaders in terms of loan agreements are Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Poltava oblasts and the city of Kyiv.

To date, 45 banks participate in the programme, with Privatbank (32,700), Oschadbank (10,500) and Raiffeisen Bank Aval (5,400) providing the largest number of loans.
