Economic cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil, cooperation in the field of labour relations, as well as the issue of restoration of international security were discussed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko and Minister of Labour and Employment of the Federal Republic of Brazil Luiz Marinho during a video meeting. Deputy Ministers of Economy of Ukraine Taras Kachka and Tetiana Berezhna also took part in the meeting.
“Brazil’s leading international role requires special attention to important issues on the international agenda, including achieving peace and restoring international security. The peace formula of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains the only realistic plan for restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity, guaranteeing security and justice in the world. We are counting on Brazil’s participation in the Global Peace Summit, which will take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.
According to her, Ukraine is also interested in strengthening economic cooperation with Brazil, which is one of the world’s leading economies and the leader of the Latin American continent. The minister reminded that despite the war, the economy of Ukraine is growing - according to the last year’s result, the growth was 5%. Ukraine is interested in strengthening trade relations, increasing non-raw exports of Ukrainian products to the Brazilian market, as well as attracting investments in the recovery and development of the Ukrainian economy.
In addition, during the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of cooperation in the field of labour relations. In particular, Ukraine is ready to adopt Brazil’s experience in strengthening the social dialogue, improving policies aimed at reducing unemployment and creating new jobs, conducting labour market analysis for effective employment policy formation.
