What already has changed due to the reform?

The Export Strategy of Ukraine is a strategic document that defines the directions of development of Ukrainian exports and guidelines for creating appropriate favourable conditions. During the four years of implementation of tasks and measures for the implementation of the Export Strategy, 52 measures have already been implemented.

The foreign trade turnover of goods and services in 2020 compared to 2019 decreased by 10.2% (by 13.5 billion dollars) and amounted to 118.3 billion dollars.

The trade balance of goods and services was negative at $ 255.5 million but improved by $ 3.4 billion compared to 2019.

The Trade with Ukraine Export Brand of Ukraine has been approved, with the help of which Ukrainian goods and services can be promoted on international markets.

The Government of Ukraine has decided to participate in the World Exhibition "Expo - 2020" (order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 14, 2018). No. 94-r), which will increase Ukraine's international image, demonstrate achievements in economic, scientific and cultural spheres, promote further development of trade and economic relations with potential partner countries and promote Ukrainian goods and services on world markets, as well as mutually beneficial investment. in the development of infrastructure, energy, implementation of integration and industrial projects, presentation of the most promising investment projects in Ukraine.

For the first time, Ukraine will be represented at such a world-class event with the construction of its own pavilion.

Thus far:

provided almost 75% of the entire project to prepare for Ukraine's participation in the World Exhibition “Expo -2020”;

the theme of the pavilion of Ukraine was approved: “Smart Ukraine: Connecting Dots” (“Smart Ukraine: Uniting the world”);

approved the concept of internal filling of the pavilion of Ukraine at the exhibition: “Smart Ukraine: life, thinking, feelings”;

pavilion of Ukraine in Dubai was built in its entirety for finishing (Shell & Core) and received a Building Completion Certificate from the UAE authorities.

Strategic objectives

General analysis of the results of the implementation of the Export Strategy of Ukraine for 2017-2021, preparation of conclusions and recommendations, updating and further updating of the Export Strategy for 2022-2027.

Approval of sectoral and cross-sectoral strategies for the development of promising sectors of the economy.

Regular information and promotional campaigns to promote the Ukrainian brand of export goods and services on foreign markets in the framework of public diplomacy.

Conducting separate information campaigns at international exhibitions in order to promote Ukrainian products with high added value.

Ensuring proper support of domestic business entities for their participation in international exhibitions and fairs abroad.

Cultivating the image of a reliable trade and economic partner by participating in the activities of international economic organizations (including the World Trade Organization, the OECD, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Grains Council).

Increasing the authorized capital of ECA on a regular basis, taking into account the justified needs to ensure maximum efficiency.

Improving the necessary legal framework for the use of the public procurement instrument.

Legislative changes to allow the use of ECA’s insurance policy to secure loans for commercial banks.

Legislative changes to enable ECA to finance exporters of the expanded list of commodity groups.

Goals and Objectives for the Current Year

Implementation of measures for the organization and functioning of the Export Credit Agency in Ukraine.

Ensuring proper support of domestic businesses in their participation in international exhibitions and fairs abroad.

Active and effective promotion of Ukraine's trade brand, demonstration of the potential of the Ukrainian economy and export opportunities of its sectors, improvement of Ukraine's international image in the world through Ukraine's active participation in the world and international exhibitions and fairs, including proper preparation and participation of Ukraine in the World Expo - 2020” ( Dubai, UAE), which will take place from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
