Almost 15,000 entrepreneurs received grants to start or develop a business under the Government’s eRobota project. In general, the state has invested UAH 7.3 billion in entrepreneurship through grants since the start of the project. This was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko.
“Over UAH 7.3 billion was invested by the state in the development of small and medium-sized businesses through the eRobota grant programmes, which we launched in the summer of 2022. To date, almost 15,000 entrepreneurs in all regions of the country have received grant funds. These are thousands of new companies and existing enterprises that strengthen their production potential, increase volumes, and create new jobs. They are working and developing despite the war, the constant threat of shelling, blackouts, and destroyed logistics chains,” Yuliia Svyrydenko noted.
In general, since the start of the eRobota project in July 2022:
- under the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) programme - 13,618 micro-grants worth UAH 3.2 billion have been issued;
- for the development of processing enterprises - 635 grants worth UAH 3.2 billion have been issued;
- 177 grants worth UAH 778 million have been issued for horticulture and greenhouse development;
- 335 grants worth UAH 144 million have been issued to veterans and members of their families.
Both active entrepreneurs and people with no business experience may apply for a grant. Applications are submitted through the Diia portal together with a business plan. A mandatory condition for receiving a grant is the creation of new jobs - from 1-2 in the case of a micro-grant to several dozen in the case of grants under other programmes. Grant funds are returned to the state in the form of taxes and fees paid in the course of the enterprise’s activity over a period of three years.
Information on receiving a grant under the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) programme may be found on the programme’s website https://vlasnaspravagrant.com.ua.
As a reminder, the eRobota project was introduced by the Government in July 2022 to provide business support and stimulate the creation of new jobs. It includes several grant programmes. In particular, these are micro-grant programmes for opening or developing one’s own business, grants for veterans and their spouses, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, planting a garden and viticulture, and greenhouse farming.
