This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.
“This year’s winners of the Vlasna Sprava programme will receive UAH 1 billion in microgrants from the state to start or develop their businesses. There are already more than 4,000 of them. 80% of them are entrepreneurs who have taken a grant to develop and scale up their businesses, and 20% are people who are starting their own business with the support of the state in the form of a microgrant. Since the programme was launched in July 2022, 17,000 Ukrainians have become winners, with the state investing UAH 4 billion in their businesses. The grantees have already returned half of the funds by paying UAH 2 billion in taxes and fees to the budget. In addition, they will create 37,000 jobs in the course of implementing their business projects,” Tetiana Berezhna said.
Among the recipients of the ninth wave of microgrants, 56% are women, 32% are men and 12% are legal entities. More than 70% of them have higher education. Most of the grantees are from Lviv oblast (64 persons), Rivne oblast (28), Zhytomyr oblast (26), Ivano-Frankivsk oblast (25) and the city of Kyiv (26). The vast majority of grantees plan to use the microgrant funds to purchase equipment necessary for running their business.
