Program of Micro-Grants for Businesses: Almost 800 Participants Will Receive Funding to Start or Develop Their Own Businesses
11.08.2022 | 12:47

As part of submitting applications for the micro-grant program for businesses, 748 entrepreneurs have already received a positive decision on receiving financing for the development or start-up of their businesses. Implementation of their business projects will create more than 2,000 jobs.

This was announced by Tetiana Berezhna, Deputy Minister of Economy, during a public discussion on the topic “Economic and social resuscitation of communities: effective responses to the challenges of war”.

Entrepreneurs from Kyiv (55), Dnipropetrovsk (19), Poltava (17), Lviv (17) and Vinnytsia (14) oblasts will receive the most grants in the second wave.

The Deputy Minister of Economy called on representatives of Ukrainian communities to intensify their economic activity via the grant program implemented by the Government.

“Building economic muscles is really very important. Every able-bodied Ukrainian understands that they must join our common victory – either by defending our state or by becoming a brave warrior on the economic front. And we, as the Ministry of Economy, want to give Ukrainians all the resources to win on this front. The micro-grant program has great potential because we see how active citizens are in submitting applications. Therefore, we expect to issue about 20,000 grants, which will allow us to create a large number of new jobs in communities and involve Ukrainians in the fight on the economic front,” emphasized Tetiana Berezhna.

She reminded that every Ukrainian, private entrepreneur or legal entity could participate in the program.

The application process is as simple as possible – through the Diia Portal. First, a participant must fill out a questionnaire, where they answer questions about their entrepreneurial status, business idea, etc. A business plan with information on the use of grant funds must be attached to the application.

After submission, the application is verified by Oschadbank for business reputation – no bankruptcy, tax debts, open court cases and sanctions imposed. The participant’s business plan is then reviewed by the State Employment Service for compliance with the program’s goals.

Applicants who successfully pass these stages are invited to an interview. Based on its results, a decision is made on providing a grant. The State Employment Service forms relevant registers and sends them to the Ministry of Economy for the transfer of funds to grant recipients. Funding can be spent only on the goals defined by the business plan.

We remind you that the program of micro-grants for businesses provides for the allotment of UAH 50,000 to 250,000 to Ukrainians to start or develop their businesses.
