of Ukraine – EU trade relations current state^[1]

The European Union is Ukraine's main trading partner. According to the results of 2024, the share of trade in goods with the EU amounted to 53.8% of the total trade of Ukraine. Thus, in January 2025 it amounted 49.1%, while in the same period of 2024 – 52.6%.

Total Trade   2024: $ 60.5 billion (↑8.3%).

Turnover      1-2025: $ 4.3 billion (↓8.5%).

Exports         2024: $ 24.8 billion (↑6.2%):

Cereals – 15.8% (↓14.4%);

Fats and oils – 13.6% (↑13.2%);

Oil seeds and fruits – 9.7% (↑24.0%);

Electric machines – 8.4% (↑38.4%);

Ferrous metals – 8.1% (↓7.3%);

Ores and slags – 6.6% (↓1.3%);

Wood and articles of wood – 4.8% (↓4.1%);

Residues and waste from the food industries – 3.3% (↑1.8%).

           1-2025: $ 1.9 billion (↓15.4%):

Cereals – 18.4% (↓21.7%);

Fats and oils – 13.9% (↓25.1%);

Electric machines – 8.9% (↑13.3%);

Ferrous metals – 6.5% (↓31.0%);

Ores and slags – 6.5% (↓21.6%);

Oil seeds and fruits – 6.4% (↓42.8%);

Wood and articles of wood – 5.0% (↑4.7%);

Residues and waste from the food industries – 4.2% (↓8.8%).

Imports         2024: $ 35.7 billion (↑9.9%):

Energy materials – 17.1% (↓7.7%);

Ground transport facilities excluding railway – 10.4% (↑1.1%);

Nuclear reactors, boilers, machines – 9.3% (↑25.3%);

Electric machines – 5.9% (↑27.6%);

Pharmaceutical products – 4.9% (↑14.6%);

Plastics and polymeric materials – 4.4% (↑0.9%);

Other chemical products – 1.9% (↑2.5%);

Fertilizers – 1.8% (↓9.3%).

1-2025: $ 2.4 billion (↓2.1%):

Energy materials – 19.3% (↑20.1%);

Electric machines – 10.2% (↑63.9%);

Ground transport facilities excluding railway – 9.8% (↓24.0%);

Nuclear reactors, boilers, machines – 6.5% (↓21.5%);

Pharmaceutical products – 5.3% (↑7.8%);

Plastics and polymeric materials – 4.3% (↓16.5%);

Fertilizers – 2.6% (↑68.7%);

Other chemical products – 2.2% (↑14.4%).

Balance         2024: - $ 10.9 billion.
