Ukraine and Argentina to hold a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation for the first time in 18 years

A significant impetus to the development of bilateral economic cooperation and trade should be provided by the revitalisation of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Argentine Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which last held its last meeting almost 18 years ago. It will also be a good opportunity to discuss the possible participation of Argentine companies in projects to restore infrastructure and rebuild Ukraine after the war.
This was discussed during a meeting between the co-chairs of the Joint Ukrainian-Argentine Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine O. Kamyshin and First Deputy for International Economic Relations of the Argentine Foreign Ministry Marcelo Sima. The meeting took place on 13 May as part of a visit to Argentina by a Ukrainian delegation headed by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
"Ukraine views Argentina as an important trade and economic partner of Ukraine in Latin America. At the same time, the current trade turnover does not match the potential of both countries. The intensification of bilateral economic cooperation, in particular, the meeting in October of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, will ensure the identification of promising areas of cooperation, increase of Ukrainian exports to Argentina and involvement of Argentine companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The Argentine party noted that it has a significant interest in cooperation with Ukraine in the pharmaceutical and agricultural sectors, both in trade and in agricultural production. Ukraine, for its part, is interested in promoting products for the manufacturing sectors of the Argentine economy, including the automotive, agricultural, food, chemical, petrochemical, mining, and pharmaceutical industries. The parties also discussed the energy sector and russia's systematic destruction of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, and agreed to strengthen cooperation in the supply of technology and equipment to both countries.
They also discussed the participation of Argentine companies in the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin.
"At least 5 companies have expressed a desire to join URC-2024, as they are looking to strengthen business ties. There is a high interest in this event in Argentine business circles," stressed Yuliia Svyrydenko.
In addition, a bilateral business forum is planned to be held within the framework of the Joint Commission, organised by the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services. This will allow companies from both countries to deepen direct business ties and promote further cooperation in priority sectors.

Made in Ukraine: Farmers receive first compensation for the purchased agricultural machinery by Ukrainian producers

Trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Costa Rica have great potential for growth, this concerns the increase in volumes and the diversification of trade.
